At West Michigan Latin Dance (WMLD), our mission is to cultivate an inclusive, vibrant Latin dance community that welcomes individuals of all backgrounds and skill levels. We provide a dynamic space where people can connect, celebrate Latin culture, and experience the energy and joy of Latin dance. Through our monthly events, we aim to foster meaningful connections, create unforgettable memories, and share the passion for dance with everyone in the community.
Our Vision
We envision WMLD as the heartbeat of Latin dance in West Michigan, where our thriving community becomes the first place people turn to for Latin dance experiences. As we grow, we strive to be a leading cultural hub that inspires dancers, elevates local talent, and brings the excitement of Latin dance to new audiences. Our vision is to create a legacy that rivals the vibrant dance scenes of larger cities like Chicago or Detroit, all while keeping the energy, passion, and closeness of a community that feels like family.
What We Do
WMLD hosts a variety of Latin dance events to bring people together, including our monthly event on the 4th Saturday, weekly Latin Night Baila at the B.O.B., and relaxed Sunday gatherings at Nick Fink’s. Each event features a dance lesson, open dancing, and a DJ, with different vibes depending on the venue—energetic at The B.O.B. and more laid-back at Nick Fink’s. We also host 5 community-building activities throughout the year, like potlucks and themed events, to strengthen connections beyond the dance floor. Our focus includes salsa, bachata, cumbia, merengue, and more, giving dancers of all levels a place to connect and grow.
